By far the best hike and most well-known in Triglav National Park is the Seven Lakes Valley trek, an exceptional 31km trail with over 1300m elevation gain passing forests, meadows, valleys and of course, seven beautiful lakes. The landscapes on this trail were seriously some of the best I've witnessed - and I've hiked some pretty rad countries.

Mitja ล orn 20 aprila, 2017. Triglav climb over the valley of the seven lakes is the most diverse one, but also the longest. The start of the trail is high above Bohinj lake on Blato meadow. There are some options of start points lower in the valley, but driving up gives us much better scenery and covering some of the height difference with car.

The Triglav Lakes Valley is a glacial alpine valley between Bohinj and Trenta. The valley itself is the result of the mighty overthrust of the Slatna plate, whereas the formation of the lakes on the karstified ground was enabled by the impermeable sediments. The valley has been protected as a national park since 1924.
